conditions are a component of any outdoor sport and we believe experience of
practicing in safe, but inclement weather, better prepares the athlete for successful
and safe competition. The following policy is an outline of WaveOne Swimming’s
inclement weather closing procedures. WaveOne shall temporarily close the
swimming area for a period of time for the following conditions:
In the case of confirmed hearing of thunder or visual sighting of cloud to ground
lightning the swimming area may be closed for ½ hour or longer.
In the case of other severe inclement weather that interferes with the ability to
lifeguard the swim course (i.e. hail, tornado, etc), it is WaveOne’s responsibility to use
their discretion in closing the water to swimmers.
Darkness caused by delay or weather conditions that impair lifeguard visual contact
with the swimmers will cause the event to close.
On the rare occasion that WaveOne Swimming closes due to the weather, we are
unable to offer a refund, credit, or make-up classes.
An announcement will be posted in the update section on the Home page of the
website in the event of a closure occurring several hours prior to an event.
